What's more fun than Scouting?

S'more Scouting!

S’more Scouting Night is all about bringing families together for a sweet evening of fun, friendship, and adventure! Around the campfire (or backyard fire pit), kids and parents can roast marshmallows, make gooey s’mores, play games, and discover what Scouting is all about — teamwork, outdoor adventures, and learning new skills while having a blast.

It’s a relaxed, welcoming way to meet local Scouts, learn how to join the fun, and see how Scouting helps kids grow into confident, capable leaders — one marshmallow at a time!

Plan your S'more Scouting Night!

  • Pick a cozy date and invite your favorite Scouts, families, and friends.

  • Choose your setting — campfire, backyard fire pit, or even a creative indoor “no-flame” version.

  • Spread the word with flyers, emails, and a quick post on social media to build excitement. Your District Executive would love to print flyers for you!

Reserve your S'more Scouting Night Kit!

  • Reserve your free S’more Night Kit — everything you need to make your event sweet and successful.

  • Kits include: graham crackers, marshmallows, chocolate, and simple setup instructions. Special S'more Scouting themed song books and invitations will also be included in the kit

  • Quantities are limited — reserve early to make sure your pack or troop doesn’t miss out!

  • Pick up your kit from your local Scouting office or from your District Executive

Have fun at your S'more Scouting Night!

  • Gather your group, light the fire, and enjoy the magic of roasted marshmallows and good company.

  • Welcome new families and show them how much fun Scouting can be.

  • Encourage Scouts to lead — let them teach songs, share stories, or run games.

  • Capture the smiles — take a few photos to share the joy (and maybe a few gooey fingers).

  • Keep it relaxed, warm, and inclusive — everyone belongs around the campfire.

Follow up on your S'more Scouting Night!

  • Collect Applications

  • Thank everyone for coming — a quick message goes a long way!

  • Invite new families to your next pack or troop meeting — keep the momentum going!

  • Give feedback on your event so we can make the next one even better.

  • Celebrate your success — you just helped make Scouting sweeter for your community!

To close out the year, The Connecticut Rivers Council is launching a sweet new recruitment push - S'more Scouting! Packs that participate can earn a free s'mores kit for their fall sign-up event! Bring families together for S'more fun at a 2025 Cub Scout Sign-Up night filled with campfire fun, sticky fingers, and new adventures.
